"[An] atmospheric and vital ballet score, brilliantly performed and recorded."
- Gramophone
Thought to have been destroyed not once but twice, the score for Norwegian composer Geirr Tveitt’s ballet Baldur's Dreams is miraculously presented here for the first time by the Stavanger Symfoniorkester conducted by Ole Kristian Ruud. First performed in 1938, the ballet is based on Scandinavian myths found in the Edda and incorporates elements of folk music from Tveitt’s homeland.
