Digital Booklet
"The music is wonderful, with Vivaldi showing his usual knack for getting the most out of a single idea ... Alessandrini’s sure direction moves it at a cracking pace with no loss of clarity. - Limelight "The Concerto Italiano plays each piece with precision and is extremely effective in highlighting the various motives that in lesser hands might have proven to be merely pedantic ... in these hands, the true intricacies of Vivaldi’s lines spring forth in a delightful torrent ... this casts a whole new light on these string concertos ... an exemplary keeper." - Fanfare Baroque conductor Rinaldo Alessandrini and the Concerto Italiano return for this second volume of Vivaldi's concertos for strings, released in 2014, a decade after their first volume of the Concerti per archi. This album is part of The Vivaldi Edition, a recording venture conceived by Italian musicologist Alberto Basso and one of the most ambitious recording projects of the 21st century. Its principal objective is to record the massive collection of Vivaldi manuscripts preserved in the Biblioteca Nazionale Universitaria in Turin, some 450 works in all.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
