Alessandro Simonetto is a pianist with a deep affinity for music of the silent film era, and in this release he turns his attention to compositions by Leroy Shield, the composer who provided much of the music for Laurel and Hardy's famous comedic collaborations, with a particular focus on music from 1930-31 and 1935-36. The result of many years work searching for Shield's scores and transcribing from recordings when scores were unavailable, this is a labour of love that will warm the heart of any Laurel and Hardy fan.
