“Jenkins' bouncy strings provide the perfect cushion for Royal's airy alto sax, as patient and elegant as Lester Young's and perfectly suited to the setting.” - David Rickert, AllAboutJazz This digital reissue presents a little-known 1960 gem of a collaboration between producer, arranger, and conductor Gordon Jenkins and saxophonist Marshal Royal to a new generation of listeners. Jenkins worked with musicians such as Frank Sinatra and Benny Goodman, while Royal was a member of Count Basie's band, and this release sees these artists combining favourite standards such as Caravan with Jenkins originals like Goodbye, all featuring truly luscious string arrangements.
44.1 kHz / 24-bit PCM – Legacy International Studio Masters

This album is a high-resolution digital transfer of material originating from an analogue master source. It may contain noise, distortion or other artifacts, and may also contain audio which is limited in bandwidth or dynamic range, due to the technology used at the time of its original creation. As such, it is offered as a high-resolution documentation of a historical release.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
