London-based pianist, composer, and poet Robert Mitchell presents his expansive project A Vigil For Justice, A Vigil For Peace, an album which involves both original compositions and spoken poetry all in the service exploring issues that Mitchell is passionate about, such as inequality, migration, democracy, and peace. Drawing on funk, fusion, Latin, and electronic sounds, this is a musical, lyrical and political manifesto from Mitchell that features respected colleagues such as drummer Laurie Lowe and bassist Tom Mason.
