During his 50 years as audiophile producer and recording engineer, Jean de la Durantaye has recorded a vast
catalogue of classical performances. Just before his death in September 2022, Jean and his close friend
2xHD’s René Laflamme decided to produce a collection of some of Jean’s favourite recordings.
This assortment – which includes works of Bach, Couperin, Chopin, Liszt, Bartok, and Bizet, amongst others demonstrates the versatility of Jean’s work during his long career. All the recordings in this collection were recorded in 2-track analog 15 ips tape, using two microphone techniques.
