Dedicated entirely to the sounds of the electric bass guitar, Provenance comes from Swedish bassist and composer Björn Meyer. A past member of the band Ronin, Meyer's solo work focuses on exploring the interactions of sound and space, forming atmospheric and sometimes mesmerizing sonic creations that are on full display in the 12 original tracks presented on this release.
“Even though the instrument is technically non-acoustic, the music is deeply influenced by the properties of the space where it is played. The many different ways in which acoustics affect my compositions and improvisations have always been sources of surprise and inspiration.
