“it's Neset's canny orchestration of tension and release that makes Circle of Chimes, arguably his most personal and complete recording to date, so compelling from first chime to last.”
- Ian Patterson, All About Jazz
Norwegian saxophonist and composer Marius Neset presents Circle of Chimes hard on the heels of his 2016 album Snowmelt. Featuring appearances from cellist Andreas Brantelid, pianist Ivo Neame, flutist Ingrid Neset and more, this is a widely varied and experimental release which continues to cement Neset not only as a top-notch performer but as a boundary-pushing composer in the contemporary music scene.
“A lot of things were changing in my life and that was the inspiration for the ideas on the album. It’s the darkest, most melancholic album I have made so far, even if it has lots of brighter moments on it as well.”
- Marius Neset, saxophonist and composer
