Mozart's Requiem in D minor, K. 626 was left unfinished upon his death in 1791 yet it to this day maintains an important place in modern concert halls. This Harmonia Mundi release of the Requiem sees a revised version of the Süssmayr copy created by French composer Pierre-Henri Dutron in 2016 presented in recording for the first time, as performed by the RIAS Kammerchor and Freiburger Barockorchester with conductor René Jacobs and soloists Sophie Karthäuser, Marie-Claude Chappuis, Maximilian Schmitt, and Johannes Weisser, making for an exciting new adaption of this legendary work.
