It's been almost four years since Adel Tawil released his last album. In the meantime, singles like "Niemandsland" and "Labyrinth" with the Hamburg rapper Bozza appeared. Now, the long-awaited fourth studio album Spiegelbild is finally released. The album is shaped by the last 2.5 years. Like all of us, Adel Tawil was suddenly alone with his thoughts. And like all of us, he felt during these drastic weeks and months that nothing is as loud as the silence of loneliness. In any case: many questions. Questions about priorities, about meaning, also about identity. Adel Tawil asked himself these questions - and turned them into the most personal songs of his life. As the album title suggests, reflection and looking inwards and outwards is the main theme of the record. This is evident both musically and lyrically. The pictures that Adel Tawil draws on them are darker than anything we know of him. It's about the wrong turns of the night. To break out the desire. About the feeling of smashing against a huge wall with full force, where one assumed freedom and peace. “I've been focused on making people feel positive for most of my life. There are moments on this album that I would definitely have killed earlier because they would have been too personal and too dark for me. The song 'Autobahn', for example, is such a moment. But I had to do this. Anything else would not have been honest." The sound is new, but the core is classic nobility: the essence of all.
