Digital Booklet
Mythologies is Thomas Bangalter's first composition for orchestra, conceived upon request of choreographer Angelin Preljocaj for the ballet of the same name. Performed by the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine under the direction of Romain Dumas, it is a large and lyrical work in which Bangalter, co-founder of Daft Punk, reinvents his relationship to composition. The ballet started as a collaboration between the Ballet Preljocaj and Ballet de l'Opéra de Bordeaux. Another ballet, Ghost, was created by the two companies in 2018. Mythologies uses ten participating dancers from each ballet. In late 2019, Preljocaj approached Bangalter about composing a ballet suite with a full orchestra. Bangalter had previously hoped to compose classical music in such a setting, so a collaboration begun between the two that resulted in what would become the opera. Mythologies, led by twenty dancers, connects ancient and modern myths. The ballet focuses on "contemporary rituals" and revolves around twenty-three scenes inspired by “founding myths that shape the collective imagination.”

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
