"... Williams changed the face of drumming forever ... he literally gave birth to fusion drumming ..." - DRUM! Magazine "I met Tony just before we recorded Foreign Intrigue. In that first recording session I just remember being awed by his prowess at the drums. As I got to know him on a personal level through the years I was continually amazed at his intelligence, his intense involvement with music and his love for the drums." - Mulgrew Miller, pianist Influential drummer Tony Williams recorded Foreign Intrigue in 1985 for the relaunched Blue Note label with pianist Mulgrew Miller and trumpeter Wallace Roney, who would both remain with Williams for the next few years in his quintet. Foreign Intrigue, featuring modern electronic instruments such as drum machines and synthesizers, also highlights the performances of veteran musicians Bobby Hutcherson on vibes and Ron Carter on bass.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
