Jerry Granelli's The V16 Project features a dual guitar frontline and diverse musical approach incorporating jazz improvisation, blues-rock-funk fusion, freeform jamming, sampled soundscapes and more. Highlighting the superb interplay of the players, the group hones its style on a surprising range of material. There is drummerless acoustic improv, trancey bossa nova, the waltz-to-freetime-to-Latin Mr. Wong suite, a psych-tinged, freegrass flavoured extended cover of the old standard Temptation and several varieties of soul jazz on this 2003 release.
