MT Hammed is in itself an institution in Norway's rock underground. The eclectic and wild ska orchestra stepped onto the stage for the first time at Cafe Blitz. Ungkulturhuset's fabled music scene, at the end of the 80s. They quickly became a treasured and sought-after live band in the autonomous cultural circle and thus in the new rock scene that emerged.
MT Hammed has been a support band for some of the biggest SKA legends, such as Desmond Dekker, Bad Manners and The Specials.
The band's style appears today as more pure ska with a punk edge, but still with a touch of the old circus factor and the same sing-along-friendly choruses that in their time made the band favourites on the underground scenes.
The beat is ska, calypso and reggae, while the lyrics embrace everything from humour to love and politics. It is sung in Norwegian, English, Italian, Amharic and Swedish. This gang delivers Skabaluba of high calibre!
MT Hammed's debut album is finally ready after over 30 years of waiting for the most loyal fans! Legendary Jørn Christensen is technician and producer and cover designer is rock artist Ingvild Hammer!
