"I never tire of it, like some people never tire of Frank Sinatra or Ella Fitzgerald or Lotte Lenya or Edith Piaf or certain foreign film soundtracks. Best album of the year."
- Details
Named best album of 1984 by Details, Mader’s Tangobidet became an overnight cult sensation. Musically somewhere between Yves Montand and Lou Reed, well out of the pop mainstream, Mader's bold performances of Tangobidet in New York City’s clubs fascinated audiences because of its timeless originality in stark contrast to the New Wave trends of the 1980s. Best-known for his successful career scoring films, Mader's versatility and innovative style has allowed him to create a slew of evocative and memorable soundtracks for movies such as Ang Lee's groundbreaking films The Wedding Banquet and Eat Drink, Man Woman, each nominated for Academy Awards.
