Digital Booklet
"Catherine Gordeladze’s is a new approach with great merit ..." - MusicWeb International "... superlative in every way, it is a no-brainer for starting with this music." - American Record Guide Nikolai Kapustin built his reputation as a jazz pianist during the 1950s and 1960s. Staking a claim as a classical composer who happens to work in a jazz idiom, he cites Oscar Peterson as his single biggest influence. The Eight Concert Etudes balance stylistic allusions to long established pianistic tradition with an exuberance which has made them favourite encores. Using the same key sequence as Chopin and Shostakovich, the extraordinary 24 Preludes in Jazz Style exude nonchalant wit and pulsating energy. Georgian pianist Catherine Gordeladze earned a reputation as one of the finest interpreters of Kapustin as a result of her performance on this album.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
