Named by Rolling Stone as Kiss's best album, this historic debut put a new face (literally) on metal, glam and hard rock as Kiss redefined both music and showmanship. No one had ever seen or heard anything quite like Kiss. The record distributor almost broke its contract with Kiss's record label, demanding the band remove its make-up, which was still very primitive at this stage. It took this album three years to achieve gold certification in the US for sales of 500,000 copies.
