"Simply Fucking stiunning" wrote UK indie magazine Losing Today in their quite beaming review for the second album Vulcan Gas Company! Simon Beck took over the producer chair after Sune Rose Wagner was Producer on the debut album, Viva Viva. The band set up their own label for this record. A lot of the songs were chosen for Danish National Radio: Baby Likes Dark Rock & Roll, Candy Young, Love Is A Dog From Hell. The album was named after the old Psychedelic rock club "Vulcan Gas Company" in Texas and it was released on the day that the Copenhagens legendary Ungdomshuset got raided by danish police and closed for good on it's adress - it was moved since to another location!
The album was more uptempo than the debut, recorded live in the studio. There were lots of guests on this album. The band had toured with - amongst others - Baby Woodrose both in the spring and in the fall. It was a good inspiration, and the three "Woodies" lent their talents on some tracks! Nikolaj Larsen, famous keyboard whizz, (Adele, The Specials) came round with some magic keys. Lise Cabble (MIss B. Haven) dropped by too and sang duet on Candy Young and backing vocals on "Winf full Of Diamonds".
The album was very easy to record but a bitch to mix! It slowed down the 2006 release date to 8 months later in early 2007. Sune Wagner only arranged one song on the album "Fire Walk With Me" and bassist extrodinaire Mick Grondahl came by the studio and did the intro rap in his perfect New York born voice and rasp! Otherwise two new talents helped along, Sara Lewis Sørensen og guitar and vocals and swedish bassist Anders Wallin.
The album included a lot of american homages to Charles Bukowski (Love Is A Dog From Hell), Hunter S. Thompson ("Saltshaker") the title to the old texan rock club from the lte 60's. Marijah Leone (Sergio Leone).
