ABC Jazz has also released a compilation of new recordings by some of the most influential composers and performers from the Australian scene to coincide with International Women's Day 2024. The collection showcases both emerging and established artists, in sessions from up and down the east coast. Many of the tracks on this album were directly commissioned by the ABC through the ABC Jazz Composer Commission program, which continues to provide opportunities for emerging and diverse artists from across the country. Taken from recordings made and/or released by ABC Jazz over the past 18 months, the album features lead artists and composers Jenna Cave, Hannah James, Hinano Fujisaki, Lucy Clifford, Katie Noonan, Claire Cross, Holly Moore and Alex Siegers, as well as two tracks recorded live in concert by Michelle Nicolle at the 2023 Melbourne International Jazz Festival.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
