The idea of recording an album with works by Robert Schumann came to Sergey Tanin during the pandemic, when he had just started working on the Davidsbündlertätzen. Schumann's music, with its inherent ambivalence, was just the thing for the strange time of lockdown... The pianist was able to find refuge there and a conversation partner in the fictional main characters of the cycle - on some days the dreamy Eusebius was closer to him, on others the explosive Florestan. The contrasting characters formed the basic idea of the program for a new album: the intimate, almost introverted arabesque is juxtaposed with the brilliant toccata and the Davidsbündler dances, in which Schumann focuses on the inner world of the characters, stand in contrast to the carnival schwank from Vienna, in which The atmosphere of a folk festival is portrayed rather than a specific figure.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
