UK Album Charts - #1, 2014
"Five Stars ... the perfect expression yet of everything that is elbow. As their best album to date, it will lift your heart and fill your soul ... this is the sound of a band throwing their arms around the world.”
- Q
"Album of the Month ... may tread gently but its emotional weight will take your breath away ..."
- GQ
"... fantastic: an album of world-beating standard yet still intimate and friendly, an epic of the everyday, a romance of the real ... what an extraordinary group elbow are turning out to be ..."
- The Daily Telegraph
"It takes a few spins to fully appreciate the complexity and ambitious scope at hand here, but this is the type of album that unfolds the longer one marinates in its charms. The record sees the band re-embrace intimate production values ... themes of aging, change, loss, friendship and unrest aren’t unfamiliar to the band’s lyrical subject matter, but they rarely are wrapped within songs this subtly sublime."
- PopMatters.com
British alternative rockers elbow enjoyed a number one album in the UK with the highly-acclaimed The Take Off And Landing Of Everything, the band's sixth release. Recorded at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios and at the band’s own facilities, the album shows off elbow's new approach to writing and recording. Previously, songs were mostly developed by the band as a whole, but this album sees individual members and combinations of members taking the lead on several tracks.
