Digital Booklet
Twinkle lights draping frosted windows, the smell of mulled cider on the stove, and festive sounds grooving on the hi-fi – a cozy holiday party among best friends is a highlight of December rituals. The Cincinnati Pops has put together an eclectic album of favorite carols and songs in snappy new arrangements that promises to liven up any holiday gathering. Led by Cincinnati Pops Conductor John Morris Russell, JOY! features music from the Pops’ beloved Holiday Pops programs, recorded live at Cincinnati Music Hall. Anything but traditional, the album includes fresh arrangements of holiday classics, like Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s “Christmas Overture,” Franz Gruber’s “Silent Night,” Mykola Leontovych’s “The Bells of St. Michael,” and Felix Mendelssohn’s “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” as well as contemporary songs, like Billy Hayes and Jay W. Johnson’s “Blue Christmas” featuring singer and trombone soloist Aubrey Logan.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
