In January of the year 2010, the producer for the Pro Organo label, Frederick Hohman, joined talents with James D. Hicks, in producing and releasing the very first Nordic Journey recording. Little did they know then how this concept would blossom and grow over the next 13 years. This is the fifteenth volume in the Nordic Journey series, and as long as conditions permit, this journey will likely continue for many years to come. In these recordings James D. Hicks has brought a greater appreciation for several composers from the Nordic lands, with literature spanning over four centuries. An even greater achievement has been Dr. Hicks’ commissioning and recording of new organ music by living composers, ranging from those who are quite young and new to the music scene, to those who have been established with many decades of experience and renown.
