L'Impermanence is the sixteenth studio album by Alain Chamfort of 2024, announced as his final studio album.
Alain Chamfort states that while this is his last album, it will not be his last recording: “I find that albums are no longer essential compared to the way we listen to music today. Subsequently, I would like to come back with different, shorter formats, such as an EP."
Consequently, the album was preceded by the release of a parallel project: an EP entitled Alain Chamfort produit par Sébastien Tellier, including 4 unreleased tracks which are not present on the album.
