These historic rare recordings date back to 1947 and 1950, featuring Romanian classical pianist and composer Dinu Lipatti. The Chopin performance was recorded in Zurich mere months before Lipatti's premature death from cancer at the age of 33 and underlines why he was considered one of the preeminent interpreters of Chopin. The concert has been remastered in high resolution from a tape copy and a private LP, with wow and flutter removed and pitch corrected. The test recordings from 1947, made for a record company, feature Italian cellist and conductor Antonio Janigro and are taken from 78 RPM shellac records provided by Janigro himself.
