"An enjoyable coda for Detroit’s punk pioneers: The first album since the early 70s from the politically radical US band recalls past glories..." - The Guardian Following their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Detroit punk legends MC5 release new album Heavy Lifting. The album is their first full-length studio album since 1971's High Time, and their first post-humous release after frontman Wayne Kramer died to pancreatic cancer in February 2024. In 2022, Kramer announced that a tour under the banner of We Are All MC5 would take place that spring, and that a new MC5 studio album with veteran producer Bob Ezrin would also be released later that year with original MC5 drummer Dennis Thompson playing on two tracks. That album became Heavy Lifting, which boasts 13 original tracks including guest apperances from Tom Morello, William DuVall, Slash, Tim McIlrath, Dennis Thompson, Vernon Reid, and Joe Berry!

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
