UK Albums Chart - #30, 1977 “Iggy’s point, of course, is that rock is better off dead, but his is not the sentimental, transcendental approach to death. The Idiot is, on the contrary, a necrophiliac’s delight, and Pop’s next move may well go beyond flesh tearing into live barbecue.” - Rolling Stone The Idiot was the first of two albums Iggy Pop released in 1977 written and recorded in collaboration with David Bowie and gleams with the electronic sounds of German groups such as Kraftwerk, often acknowledged as the unofficial beginning of Bowie’s Berlin period. The album is at once funky and robotically electronic, resulting in a sound that was defiantly futuristic at the time of its debut.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
