Digital Booklet
"CD of the Week ... the Chamber Domaine players conducted by Thomas Kemp capture its fragile essence perfectly ... the performances are full of exuberance ..." - The Guardian "... this recording very usefully fills some gaps in the Britten discography ... with excellent performances and recording, this is a welcome addition to the Britten centenary celebrations." - MusicWeb International Acclaimed ensemble Chamber Domaine and director Thomas Kemp deliver this exciting programme of early works by Benjamin Britten, including four significant world premieres. The ensemble explores works written while Britten was still a student, culminating with the Suite for Violin and Pianoforte and Britten's arrangement of There is a Willow Grows Aslant a Brook, heard here for the first time. Further world premieres include the substantial Introduction and Allegro for piano trio, The Moon for violin and piano and Allegro for solo piano. Britten's Sinfonietta, Op. 1, heard here in its rarely played original version, completes the programme.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
