Electric Religious is the project of Métis singer-songwriter, Brandon Baker, whose guitar-driven music has been described as “bursting with inspiration, insight, and hope.” Deeply influenced by the psychedelic sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Baker took his moniker from a Hendrix quote: “When I get up on stage, that’s my whole life. That’s my religion… I am electric religion.” Electric Religious has had two singles among the CBC Searchlight Top 100 in recent years, and his 2021 release, Tragic Lover, was selected among CKUA’s Top 100 Albums of the Year, on the heels of his nomination for Métis Artist of the Year at the Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards. The new album, The Taste, is being released on the Indigenous-owned music label, Red Music Rising. This collection of tunes straddles pop, rock, and funk––with an Indigenous spin on the genres that Baker has playfully coined, “Métis Disco.” The album features special guests including legendary drummer Omar Hakim (David Bowie, Foo Fighters, Sting, Madonna, Dire Straits, Kate Bush), Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, Smashing Pumpkins, Willie Nelson), and Riwo Egor (Melafrique).

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
