"Barrakuda McMurder is a thing that happened because I wrote a song called 'it’s A Slow Craw To The Finish Line' that I thought my band, The Steinways, would do a terrible job of playing, but I figured Chris Pierce and I could play it just fine. Since then, it’s what I call the music I make when it’s just me or just me and a drummer. The origins of the name are lost to time, but, you’re right, it’s a really, really good band name; thanks for noticing. Like most/all pop punk songs, these songs are chock full of tremendously embarrassing lyrical moments, but I’m especially embarrassed by the pejorative toss out of 'gay' in 'Oh My God You Guys…' as well as the casual 'retarded' dropped in '...Sweatpants…' I was young(er) and dumb(er) and blah, blah, bah, but yeah, sorry those moments exist and sorry if they make you want to die. That’s certainly how they make me feel, but, whether I like them or not, they exist, so here they are."
