"... showcases Morgan at his representative best on a program offering something for practically everyone."
- All About Jazz
"... the results here are staggering: an incredible exhibition of technical virtuosity, stamina, intensity and searing power ... the trumpeter's playing here is ferocious and some of his finest on record."
- Jazz.com
This 1968 album introduced one of Lee Morgan's best-known originals, the bluesy Speedball. Another highlight here is the Wayne Shorter composition Trapped, considered among the best of Morgan's recordings. This session includes Shorter on tenor sax, who coaxes the best out of Morgan, Harold Mabern on piano, Bob Cranshaw on bass and Billy Higgins on drums.
