Recorded at two different sessions six months apart in 1963, Hank Mobley's No Room For Squares serves as a showcase not only for Mobley's tenor sax virtuosity, but also for the talent of the musicians he recruited for these two sessions. Drummer Philly Joe Jones played on both sessions; the first session features pianist Herbie Hancock, bassist Butch Warren and trumpeter Donald Byrd while the second session highlights pianist Andrew Hill, bassist John Ore and Lee Morgan on trumpet.
