"If you’re looking for 'straight ahead' jazz (in near-perfect form), here it is. Kenny Dorham plays here with the burning rhythm section John Coltrane used on Blue Train ... characterized by top-notch playing that is adventurous within established forms." - All About Jazz Whistle Stop, Kenny Dorham's 1961 recording, is a bluesy, swinging hard bop session featuring an impressive lineup of players: in addition to Dorham at the top of his game here, Hank Mobley fills the tenor saxophone chair, Kenny Drew is behind the piano, Paul Chambers mans the upright bass and Philly Joe Jones is on drums. All seven of the album’s compositions are by the trumpeter and they allow the band to explore a variety of moods and rhythmic approaches, all the while providing toe-tapping grooves.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
