Digital Booklet
"… soprano Lori Phillips sings Clytemnestra splendidly ... the Michigan choirs and orchestra set a professional standard in this tremendous project ..." - The WholeNote "... a great performance of a great work. The recording quality is consistently fine ... over and above that is the power and intensity of ail the musicians taking part, clearly under Kiesler’s inspiring direction." - International Record Review The University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra and Choirs under conductor Kenneth Kiesler present this programme dedicated to Darius Milhaud, an important avant-garde figure in early 20th century Paris. This marks the first-ever recording of Milhaud’s complete monumental operatic trilogy, L’Orestie d’Eschyle, the result of the first North American performance of the entire work and believed to be the first performance anywhere in the world since 1963. This album earned a Grammy nomination in 2015 for Best Opera Recording.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
