"... Tremblay is a mature musician and excellent at improvisation, his tenor's tone is beautiful ... (he) has a deep knowledge of jazz and was successful in putting together excellent musicians ... his work is beautiful, impressionist, French and very modern..."
- Radio-Canada
On his live album Lueurs, composer, arranger and saxophonist Pascal Tremblay weaves a string quartet into original compositions and his own arrangements of works by impressionist icons such as Fauré, Debussy and Poulenc. Tremblay rounds out his quartet with celebrated musicians Sylvain Provost on guitar, Frédéric Alarie on bass and Jean-François Barbeau on drums, joined by the Claudel-Canimaux String Quartet. Impeccably performed and recorded in August 2010 at a church in Québec, Lueurs merges atmospheric jazz with the intimacy of impressionist chamber music.
