Giacomo Meyerbeer is famous for codifying the style of French grand opera at the Paris Opéra during the 19th century. This release presents orchestral overtures and interludes from some of his most famous operas, such as Les Huguenots and Robert le Diable, performed with drama by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Darrell Ang.
