Fables, the fourth album from acclaimed Danish jazz group Girls In Airports, is at least partly influenced by great bass player Charlie Mingus; in fact Mingus was an early working title. These songs are founded on stories that resonate in a deeply and emotional way, inspired by locality: the collective experience of living in Copenhagen, the musicians’ lives, stories of touring and hours spent on the tour bus.
