On The Golden Scale, Jamie Saft improvises on historical instruments from the Steve Greenstein Collection at the Piano Performance Museum in upstate NY. The album was recorded onsite by Brian Gunn and Ian Martusewicz, and mixed and mastered by the artist himself.
Pianos used on this recording: 1889 Steinway Model "B". w front duplex (85 keys), 1873 Erard Straight Strung, 1843 John Broadwood & Sons 7' Bichord Chopin Era Semi-Grand, Liberace's 1961 Baldwin Model "D" Concert Grand, Muzio Clemente Square Grand (ca. 1803-1809), Sir Roland Hanna's 1920's Boardman & Grey Parlor Studio Grand, and a Nunns, Clark, & Co. American Square ca. 1833-1837.
