This live album features the fourth incarnation of the Mack Avenue SuperBand, an all-star group drawn from the superb roster of the Mack Avenue label. For this 2015 Labour Day concert at the Detroit Jazz Festival, the ensemble joined forces to dazzle the crowd in Hart Plaza under the first time leadership of bassist Christian McBride, replacIng fellow bassist Rodney Whitaker. Regardless of the personnel from year to year, the SuperBand comprises a distinctive blend of generations and styles, reflecting the diversity of the label itself.
