Digital Booklet
"The singing throughout is of surpassing serenity ... early music collectors who are looking for something special spanning the earliest repertoire will find this a gratifying acquisition." - Fanfare "Truly magical. There’s not a great deal to be said about this disc, other than to attempt a description of luminous performances and a beautiful recording of some marvellous medieval music ... if you dive for the named composers you will hear some pretty special stuff ... production standards are to ECM’s usual superlative standards ..." - MusicWeb International Estonian ensemble Vox Clamantis brings together singers and instrumentalists who share an interest in Gregorian chant as the basis of all European art music on this highly-praised recording of medieval music from Gregorian chant to works by Perotinus, Hildegard von Bingen and Petrus Wilhelmi de Grudencz. The group's interpretation of medieval music is never purely historical: while always remaining true to the spirit of this repertoire, the approach to the work and the selection of pieces is contemporary.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
