American folk rock duo Indigo Girls release a new COVID-19 era single, "Long Ride", calling for patience and fortitude in the time of lockdown. The single comes as part of Morning Edition's series, asking artists to write original songs inspired by the times. "I love the project idea, but I was worried about trying to write about these times because of how complex it is — because there are so many layers. I almost feel like without some distance on it, and some perspective, it's hard to write a song [...] I had just talked to some friends who were really pent up and wanted to go out, party, and get it out of their systems. And I was trying to be the voice of reason and say, you know, its probably better to be safe right now," she says. "And I was talking to my mom, and she was talking about wanting to go out to eat with friends. So I just started writing about that. - Indigo Girls

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
