"If you've ever spent time traveling, maybe you know the feeling of being in a new place, somewhere far, far from home, somewhere where you don't know anyone ... and no one knows you. Being a stranger in a strange land gives you a kind of freedom where you can be ... well, anyone you want. And after a while, it can feel good to see familiar faces again. On Elvis Costello's new album, Hey Clockface, he takes you on that type of journey."
- NPR
Rock legend Elvis Costello releases his brand new album Hey Clockface, which features previous singles “We Are All Cowards Now”, “No Flag” and “Hetty O’Hara Confidential.” Costello recorded the new album in Helsinki, Paris, and New York. The record features Elvis Costello’s longtime bandmate Steve Nieve, as well as Bill Frisell, Nels Cline, Mickaél Gasche, Pierre-François “Titi” Dufour, and more.
“I sang live on the studio floor, directing from the vocal booth. We cut nine songs in two days. We spoke very little. Almost everything the musicians played was a spontaneous response to the song I was singing. I’d had a dream of recording in Paris like this, one day.”
