The repertoire on this 2014 release includes two works for two pianos in which Ashkenazy is joined by his son Vovka. The album also presents a wide selection of Blake's solo pieces for piano performed by Ashkenazy himself. The title track of the album is a solo piano version of Walking In The Air from the 1982 animated holiday film The Snowman, issued as an advance release download in time for Christmas 2013. The album features nine world premiere recordings from Blake’s repertoire, including a prelude written especially for Ashkenazy consisting of his initials, as well as music from Blake’s many film scores.
