"... has the voice to become the next big name in vocal jazz/pop. On the soulful cover of Burt Bacharach’s classic Anyone Who Had A Heart ... she starts off subtly and proceeds to knock it clear out of the park."
- PopMatters.com

Young vocalist Brenna Whitaker channels an era of jazz and blues music long gone on her self-titled debut album. A native of Kansas City, Whitaker headed to Los Angeles and eventually attracted fans like Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Michael Bublé and David Foster, Verve Music Group chairman and 16-time Grammy winner. The first new artist Foster has agreed to develop and produce since discovering Bublé, Whitaker's debut on Verve finds her reviving a vast American jukebox of classic songs, revealing the full force of her stunning, soulful voice. This deluxe edition contains three bonus tracks.

"Ruth Brown, Peggy Lee, Cab Calloway, Etta James: those are my people. I don't even know how I ended up knowing so many of their songs and standards from back then. It's almost like they found their way to me, like I'm from another time."

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
