Conscious is the second release from New Zealand brother-and-sister band Broods, composed of lead vocalist Georgia Nott and her multi-instrumentalist older brother Caleb. On this album, the Notts once again teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Joel Little, who worked on the breakthroughs from both Lorde and Ellie Goulding. Speaking of Lorde, Conscious features a song the duo co-wrote with their fellow New Zealander, as well as Freak Of Nature, a duet with Tove Lo. Free, the first single taken from Conscious, broke into the top 30 in both Australia and New Zealand, was also a hit at alternative radio in the US and has racked up over three million views online. The band members say the title Conscious succinctly sums up their approach to creating music.
