Jorma Kaukonen celebrated his 75th birthday with a two-night Hot Tuna stand at the Beacon Theatre in New York City in November 2015. The birthday boy and his bandmate Jack Casady were backed by triple Grammy-winning drummer Justin Guip and joined by special guests Larry Campbell, Teresa Williams and John Hammond. This live recording captures both sets played the first night.
"I’ve known John Hammond for almost as long as I’ve known Jack ... 55 years, more or less. We both got our musical identities started back at Antioch College in 1960 and we’ve been friends ever since. To have him join Jack and myself for the first three songs of this show was an honour and a pleasure. The three of us sure go back to the beginning of it all. Played some good music too. Thanks so much John!"
