After a five-year hiatus from music, songwriter and guitarist Dave Wanamaker began writing and compiling songs for what would become his debut solo release, Shelter. Recorded primarily in Nashville at Ronnie’s Place Studios, (past musical home of Roy Orbison and Ronnie Milsap) and co-produced with long-time friend and musician Gibb Droll, Shelter is both timely and timeless. A sonically lush and emotionally complex record, Shelter showcases Wanamaker’s hook-laden, streamlined songwriting and echoes with shimmering, dream-like guitars, subdued lyrics and finely wrought storytelling.
