Violinist Nazrin Rashidova and guitarist Stanislav Hvartchilkov present this recital of their own original transcriptions and arrangements of popular classical repertoire by composers including Bach, Mozart, Bizet and Elgar. The combination of violin and guitar is not so uncommon today, partly due to the appeal of their complementary timbres. It is still quite challenging, however, to find works for the duo where the roles are equally demanding and virtuosic, not only musically and technically, but most importantly, tonally and dynamically. On their second album together, the two longtime associates have chosen selections that vividly display this equal balance.
